iGlow Mentoring presents their first annual: Pink Pearls & Pretty Dresses: Girls Empowerment Breakfast featuring J Records/RCA Music Group artist, Monica. Saturday October 6, 2012, from 10:00A-2:00P, iGlow Mentoring would like to welcome mothers and daughters (aged 10-19) to the Tinley Park Convention Center. Adorned in pink pearls and pretty dresses, mothers and daughters will have an opportunity to enjoy an atmosphere of sophistication and empowerment. Guests will partake in an event-filled itinerary which includes a full breakfast, fashion shows, inspirational celebrity messages and entertainment. The breakfast will serve as a fundraiser for iGlow Mentoring’s Back-to-School retreat, being held this Labor Day weekend at the Lake Williamson Conference Center in Carlinville, Illinois.
iGlow’s inaugural featured guest-speaker, Monica Brown, serves as a prolific mentor for women worldwide by turning her struggles into millions in record sales. With over 20 years in the industry, if her latest studio album is any indicator, this inspirational young woman has truly embarked on a “New Life.” Released this past April, her aptly titled album serves as the follow-up to her “Still Standing,” album. Of her continued successes amidst struggles, Monica has said, “Whatever happens to me is just a part of my story. It doesn’t define who I am and it hasn’t deterred me from where I’m going.” As such, Monica will hold an intimate conversation with event guests. To define oneself as “Still Standing” and as possessing a “New Life” are bold statements and both album titles actualize Monica’s placement as featured speaker.
This event promises to be memorable for all mothers and daughters in attendance. As the founder of iGlow Mentoring, Delores Balogun seeks to establish and foster mentoring relationships with young girls in the Chicagoland area. Balogun fully encourages and supports the enrichment of girls’ lives, both academically and socially. This event will serve as the first of many that will be used as a platform to fulfill Ms. Balogun’s and iGlow Mentoring’s, mission. iGlow Mentoring welcomes the participation of local businesses and media. All media and vendors that would like to get involved in this and any future events through sponsorship, promotion, or service, should contact Vau’ve A. Davis at vdavis@OfficialAnaisPR.com.
