The holidays are a time for giving, a time for family and a time to change lives and no one knows it like Kevin Durant and his family – mother,Wanda Pratt and brother Anthony Durant. The Durant Family Foundation is ready to give back and their plans for giving are certainly not small. If you think back to Kevin Durant’s MVP speech earlier this year, as he teared up and brought many, including myself to tears, as he shared the story of his family moving into their first apartment and crying on the floor, no furniture but just a promise of a better tomorrow. Still an MVP in my book, Kevin backed by his family has certainly not forgot where he came from and they are making it their duty to give back! This year the foundation hopes to provide every child in need in the city of Oklahoma City with toys and a smile with a goal of serving at least 10,000 children. The mission of the Durant Family Christmas Toy Drive is to assist the Oklahoma City community by providing a tangible sign of love to children who would not otherwise receive a gift during the Christmas season. The Second Annual Durant Family Christmas Toy Giveaway will take place on Monday,December 22nd from 4-8PM. This event is open to the public, children must be accompanied by an adult.
There are a limited number of toys, but the Durant’s say they will serve as many kids as they can. No registration is needed, simply come to the event and be blessed. In addition to providing toys, the Durant’s are also spreading holiday cheer with photos with Santa and the Durant Family and other holiday activities.
The Durant Toy Giveaway will be held at Cox Pavilion 3212 Wichita Walk Oklahoma City, OK 73107. Please enter through Gate 5 off of May ave.
