Black Philanthropic Alliance to host Annual Meeting with Valaida Fullwood, author of Giving Back: A Tribute to Generations of African American Philanthropists; honoring Tracey Webb of Black Benefactors on December 5th!

Valaida Fullwood, contributing writer for the blog BlackGivesBack.com and author of the newly released Giving Back: A Tribute to Generations of African American Philanthropists, will discuss the centuries-old cultural customs and beliefs that make a meaningful impact on the Black community at her inaugural DC appearance and book signing at BPA’s annual meeting. Giving Back includes stories and images of more than 200 people whose lives influenced the legacy of the broad spectrum of Black philanthropists.
Judy Belk, senior vice president of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, said, “Giving Backshines a long overdue spotlight on the legacy of giving which is so much a part of the African American community’s DNA and spirit. Writer Valaida Fullwood and photographer Charles Thomas Jr. have beautifully captured both in words and pictures untold stories of generosity which move and inspire. Giving Back should be positioned in a place of honor on the bookshelf and coffee table of every Black family in America.”

Tracey Webb, Founder of Black Benefactors
BPA will proudly present our legacy award to one of our own, Tracey Webb, a local and nationally known Black philanthropist who has made—in a very short period of time—a major impact on giving by African Americans in our community. A founder of Black Benefactors, Tracey has been instrumental in catalyzing giving in and to the Black community and emphasizing that philanthropy is for everyone. She is also the creator of the blog Black Gives Back and a friend of BCG! We congratulate Ms. Tracey Webb on this honor and if you are in DC, get your tickets today!
