Shay Sharpe, a 6 year breast cancer survivor and the President & founder of Shay Sharpe’s Pink Wishes grants wishes to young women, age 40 and under, who have been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.
Sharpe founded this organization in July 2011 and in this short time, has already hosted a black tie fundraiser and granted their first wish. Shay Sharpe’s Pink Wishes was able to send their wish recipient and her family to Sea World in San Diego.
MISSION: Founded in 2011, Shay Sharpe’s Pink Wishes is a 501 (c) 3 non- profit organization, that will grant wishes to young women who were diagnosed with terminal breast cancer before the age of 40.
1 in 227 women under the age of 40 will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the next 10 years. Women under the age of 40 account for 5% of the breast cancer population; and for that reason alone, we are often dismissed, therefore diagnosed at a later stage.
With the help of family, friends and the community, Shay Sharpe’s Pink Wishes will make the dreams of some amazing and courageous young women come true.
