Location Last Seen: Ashley and her friend, Abreeya Brown were last seen at 10PM outside their house in the 2200 block of Andrus Street.
Circumstances of Disappearance: The two women were kidnapped. They were allegedly snatched from a car outside the Andrus Street house by two armed men. When police arrived at the scene, Brown’s vehicle was still running, and the doors were open. Her handbag was on the ground and both women were gone. Nearly two dozen bullet holes pierced the front of the light-blue, framed house. According to police, the women were forced into the trunk of a car by men who exchanged gunfire with the Abreeya Brown’s stepfather, Charles McGinnis. About an hour later, family members received desperate text messages from the women: “Help us. They got us.” One of three men connected to the abduction was charged in an earlier shooting involving the women. Brandon Lewis Cain, 25, was arraigned in 36th District Court on two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault to do great bodily harm less than murder and two counts of felonious assault. The other two men in custody are Bryant Christopher Lee, 24, and Andrew Michael Todd-Douglas, 34. Neither has been charged.
