MyHelpMyHope, Inc., is a non-profit organization started by Cathy Staton. Through my organization, MyHelpMyHope, Inc., helps those who want to get out of their abusive relationship and those that have decided to leave. MyHelpMyHope assist with clothing, food, financial assistant if available and resources that can get them help with emergency shelter. The organization holds domestic violence workshops at local shelters and the founder Cathy Stanton speaks to the women who have decided to leave their situation, transition back into an abuse free life, by encouraging, uplifting, inspiring and empowerment. MyHelpMyHopealso hold community events to bring awareness to domestic violence and other types of abuse.
MyHelpMyHope hosts One2One, a program that takes us into the shelters and speak with those that have been abuse on a more personal level. Research has shown that the women are less likely to go back to their situation when they have conversations with those that have walked in their shoes. They can relate to us more and we give them hope and encouragement.
Mission
1. To take a stand against Domestic Violence.
2. To provide social awareness, information, and resources.
3. To help Victims transition back into a empowering life that will result in them having a sense of self worth again.
Purpose
To bring people together to build networks and to learn from one another in order to make Virginia safer. To become a recognized leader in Virginia’s response to Domestic Violence.
