Lionel Richie and Etta James to be inducted into Apollo Hall of Fame Benefit Gala!

The world famous Apollo Theater is so much more than a historic landmark – it is a source of pride and a symbol of the brilliance of American artistic accomplishment. With its rich history and continued significance, the Apollo Theater, considered the bastion of African-American culture and achievement, is one of the most fascinating chronicles in American history.
The Apollo Theater seventh Annual Spring Gala Benefit Concert and Awards Ceremony is a star-studded event where some of the hottest names in show business come together to celebrate Apollo legends.This year, multi-award winning singer/songwriter Lionel Richie and the late, great Etta James will be inducted into the Apollo Hall of Fame.
 Lionel Richie and Etta James will be joining past inductees Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Patti LaBelle, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson among others.Each Apollo Hall of Fame Inductee is honored with a plaque on the Apollo Walk of Fame, installed under the Theater’s iconic marquee.The Concert and Awards ceremony will be followed by the Apollo Supper Club, featuring a stylish lounge atmosphere, spectacular gourmet creations, and late-night dancing. The Spring Gala attracts many celebrity guests such as Prince, Chris Tucker, Jamie Foxx, Mariah Carey, Angela Bassett and more. You never know who will show up on this year’s red carpet!

The Apollo Theater is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization.  Proceeds from the 2012 Spring Gala will benefit the full range of the Apollo’s year-round activities including performing arts presentations, family and educational programs, and the development of new work through commissions to emerging artists.
