Houston, TX native, Marcus Sloan knew that giving back to boys in his hometown with his Shoot 2 Score Hoops Organization was the right thing to do. In May 2008, Sloan founded Shoot 2 Score Hoops, a non-profit organization that offers year-round athletics, community service opportunities, academic enrichment, college preparation, and summer basketball camps in and around the greater Houston area. The Shoot 2 Score Hoops program helps build discipline, character, academic achievement, and social skills.
On Sunday, September 2nd, 2012, Shoot 2 Score Hoops will kick off their fall basketball league where participants will develop several basketball skills and an overall love for the game. With a supporting team of former NBA players, mentors and coaches, participants will get enrichment on and off the court. The organization’s mission is to positively develop underprivileged boys and girls in Houston, Texas through basketball and character building programs. Shoot 2 Score Hoops hopes to encourage personal and professional goals through its athletic and academic programs. For more information on this great program visit www.shoot2scorehoops.com.
This is a great article! Thanks for highlighting such an amazing organization that gives back to a great community. We need more role models for our young boys that teach them skills on and off the court, how to be a man, how to deal with anger, how to keep a winning attitude and self-moticate during struggles.
Thanks again for this!
