The ECCYA was founded based on a vision by Yolanda Jeffries, Founder & President in Dolton, Illinois. In July of 2010, Yolanda held the vision that all youth should be granted an opportunity to succeed and have criticial resources readily at their finger tips for them to leverage as they strive for success within their lives. Not all children come from a two parent home, or have the wealth, education, and expertise to help guide and direct a child on the right path. Consequently, in September of 2010, Yolanda Jeffries along with Gary Jeffries, and Willie Livingston turned a vision into a reality.
Through an agreement with the Dolton Public Library, the ECCYA began offering group tutoring sessions weekly on Saturday’s at the Dolton Public Library located 14037 Lincoln Ave, Dolton, IL 60419. On June 12, 2011, the ECCYA opened its door to 20 aspiring youth between the ages of 8-17 years old.
