The Miss Black Arizona Scholarship Foundation presents the Little Miss and Teen Black Arizona Pageant on Saturday, August 27th at 4:00 p.m. at Indian Steele Park Memorial Hall in Phoenix! The Miss Black Arizona Scholarship Foundation created the Little Miss Black AZ Pageant in 2009, which now makes a total of three pageant systems: Little Miss, Teen, and Miss Competitions. Since 2008, when the Teen and Miss Competitions were created, the MBAZ Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $15,000 in scholarships and prizes to over 100 contestants.
This year, in celebration of over 120 contestants in the Miss Black Arizona Scholarship Pageant system, the pageant will present a Red Carpet Experience before this year’s pageant. The Red Carpet Experience will allow local and statewide media to meet the contestants vying for one of five crowns in this year’s pageant. There are five divisions this year: Toddler Miss ages 3-4, Tiny Miss ages 5-7, Little Miss ages 8-9, Junior Miss ages 10-12, and Teen Miss ages 13-17, with one winner in each division.
The theme for this year’s pageant is “Black Girls Rock in AZ,” with colors blue, silver and red captivating the special night. There are over 35 hopeful contestants that will be competing for the ultimate prize of reigning as the 2011-2012 queens in their individual divisions. Other prizes include savings bonds, crowns, trophies, sashes, college scholarships, cash and other sponsored gifts. Every little princess will feel like royalty when they participate in a special crowning ceremony where they will be given a beautiful rose and tiara. Courtney Livingston, 2011 Miss Black Arizona, Tremaine Jasper, Mr. PhxSoul.com and comedian, E-Tweed will serve as hosts for the evening. We also have a distinguished panel of judges that will be scoring our lovely ladies in this must-see competition!
Tickets for the 2011 Little Miss and Teen Black Arizona Pageant have sold out with more than 400 expected guests! Media you do not want to miss this one-of-a-kind community event!
