ASALH Celebrates the 86th Annual Black History Luncheon in Washington, DC on February, 25th, 2012!
The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) will host it’s 86th Annual Black History Luncheon in the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel, located at 999 Ninth Street, NW, Washington, DC, Saturday, February 25, 2012, 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The 2012 theme for National Black History Month is “Black Women in American Culture and History.” ASALH is dedicating the 2012 national theme to exploring the roles and contributions of African-American women in the making of our great Nation.
The esteemed event will be hosted by WUSA9 Anchor/VP for Media Outreach, Dr. JC Hayward and 95.5 WPGC Radio host, Guy Lambert. This year’s honored guest speaker is Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art. The mission of the ASALH is to promote research, preserve, interpret, and disseminate information about black life, history, and culture to the global community. The 86th Annual luncheon presents an amazing opportunity for you to fellowship with ASALH as they honor true visionaries, African American women leaders who have paved. Guests are invited to be a part of our Featured Authors’ Event which will start at 10 am.
