At the age of 23 Travis Sands felt as if it was his duty to set a path way, for those who were going through the same things he faced as a child, single parent home living in an environment with little to no available resources. He wanted to create somewhat of a safe haven where children and young adults can come together to voice their opinions, concerns and actually receive positive feedback. He decided to make a change for the better; allowing the youth to have an outlet in a positive way. This motive is what established Our Chance Enterprise- born in February of 2010. OCE gives the youth all the resources it takes to be as great as they will dream. OCE has monthly Youth Chats at parks in the inner city of Miami that allow the youth to express themselves in a judgment free zone. These Youth Chats include positive music, guest performances and family fun activities all free of charge. He was able to continue this non-profit organization even through the economic crisis of having a major pay cut. Travis is a selfless person and assures that the youth in the inner city of Miami are getting the resources and positive feedback they need and deserve to fulfill their dreams!
