Beyonce may have released a single back in 2008 referencing her man’s “big ego” but, it’s Global Grind who’s reporting on the more humbler side of the “I Am… Sasha Fierce” singer referencing the star’s big heart. On Monday July 7 the site reported that the icon dished out “$7 million on a housing complex in her hometown, Houston, Texas, to shelter homeless men and women.”

It was during an interview with Beyonce’s longtime pastor that all of her notable charity work was exposed. Vibe released the video of Pastor Rudy Rasmus’ interview with local Houston news station KHOU, where he spoke very highly of Mrs Knowles-Carter.

“She’s doing great things, matter of fact, phenomenal things,” Rasmus said in support of the singer. “[She] has a global platform and is doing some amazing work. And I’m glad she’s a friend of mine.” The pastor added how helpful she and her efforts have been over the years in pushing his ministry forward.

“She’s an incredible human being, has an incredible heart, and has been extremely helpful in our mission, in our ministry here,” he said.

It’s great to know that the woman recently named Forbes’ most powerful celebrity is using her power for good and not evil. Despite rumors of her illuminati affiliation Beyonce, whose worth is an estimated $115 million in earnings, has managed to disregard all of the hateful chatter and represent herself, at least in the public eyes, as a true Houston southern bell with a heart of gold.

Currently on tour with husband/rap mogul Jay-Z, the power couple have found another way to use their talents in the spirit of giving. A portion of the proceeds for the “On the Run Tour,” which Huffington Post describes as an on stage live “conversation through songs,” will go the Shawn Carter Foundation – to provide scholarships for students.
