This summer 2,000 girls will become Tech Divas by participating in Black Girls CODE’s annual Summer of Code Program which launches in July across 10 US cities. Pittsburgh, Miami, Dallas, Tallahassee, New York, Detroit, Memphis, and San Francisco/Oakland are among the cities currently planning to hold classes in subjects such as web design, mobile application development, and gaming. These one day workshops will engage students ages 7-17 in fun and exciting technologies on the cutting edge of innovation.This program will be funded partially by a crowdfunding campaign– Summer of CODE 2013- The REMIX which has an agressive goal to raise $100,000 in 45 days and is currently in process on Indiegogo (http://igg.me/at/BGCTheRemix)
first Black Girls CODE documentary short. Black Girls CODE needs help from our community of supporters to serve as ambassadors for this campaign by doing one or more of the following actions:
– Donate, Share & Get 5 Friends to do the same
– Make a donation of $50 or more to support our campaign
– Tweet this campaign to your followers
– Post and share this on Facebook, Google +, blogs, and other social
media outlets
– Email to your friends
– Volunteer for a workshop in one of the above cities
– Host a small gathering in your
community to raise funds for Summer of Code 2013 – The Remix! and show the 15 minute BGC documentary short. (Click Here to register: Screening)
