Atlanta radio host, philanthropist and restauranteur Frank Ski is kicking off his 9th annual celebrity wine tasting and live auction benefiting his Frank Ski Kids Foundation at his new restaurant Frank Ski’s Restaurant and Lounge in Buckhead on Sunday December 2, 2012.
At $250 a ticket, you’ll experience rare and vintage wine varieties such as Silver Oak and Opus One, and an opportunity to bid on items that range from a talking African Grey bird to a VIP wine tour and dinner in Napa Valley.
The event was created to attract a selective group of Tastemakers who share a love of wine and philanthropy. In past years it hasn’t been uncommon to rub elbows with the likes of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Atlanta’s current or past mayors and this year will be no different. Ski says you’ll meet an amazing mix of influencers in an environment that stimulates conversation.
“At what other event will you see Bernice King and rapper Young Jeezy chatting over a glass of wine? asks Ski rhetorically.” This year will be no different.
Joining Ski as co-host of this year’s charity wine tasting will be Boris Kodjoe and wife Nicole Ari Parker, who Ski admires for their own philanthropic efforts.
“Boris and Nicole have their own foundation, so they have a deep passion for giving back and understand the efforts of the Frank Ski Kids Foundation,” says Ski. Also tag teaming the elite Hollywood couple is Ski’s longtime friend and former Def Jam CEO Kevin Liles with wife Erika.
“Kevin and I have been friends for about 25 years and we’ve always supported each other, so naturally I wanted to have him here,” says Ski.
With an estimated $1 million raised for the foundation over the last 8 years, the ability to send several kids to Harvard and an opportunity to provide children with hands-on experiences vital to furthering their ambitions; Sunday’s event is said to be one of the most talked about occasions that will close out the year.
The Celebrity Wine Tasting and Live Auction will be held from 3pm-7pm at Frank Ski’s Restaurant and Lounge. For more information about the Frank Ski Kids Foundation visit http://www.frankskikids.org.
