It is often said that children misbehave because “they have too much time on their hands”. At Goals Incorporated, local youth participate in an after-school enrichment program that occupies their time to prevent “risky behavior”. Through the program’s activities, youth are taught essential life skills and comprehensive educational reinforcement.
At Goals Incoporated, a youth gains:
enhanced self-esteem
increased sense of values
conflict management capabilities
assertiveness
tools on how to build healthy relationships
positive ways to handle negative pressure
Founders Georgina Adu and Leslie Kudayah both had dreams of developing programs that would support their communities. Together they began Goals Incorporated which offers positive feedback to youth who may have never experienced any otherwise. Adu and Kudayah also provide a curriculum centered around nutrition and sexual education. Young girls are mentored, tutuored, and exposed to positive reinforcement to stimulate a promising future.
“Everybody is a genius. But, if you judge a fish based on its abitiy to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
