Jane’s House of Inspiration (JHOFI) is a non-profit organization that helps women and their families recover from substance abuse. The mission of JHOFI is to create safe, judgment free environments where women can heal their minds, bodies, and spirits from substance abuse and become productive members of their families and society. Jane’s House of Inspiration was founded in 2006 and incorporated in 2008 in Jefferson County Alabama. The founder of JHOFI, Qiana L. Brown, set this organization in place to accomplish three overarching goals:
1. To prevent relapse in women who are recovering from substance abuse.
2. To encourage women to rid themselves of unhealthy behaviors and detrimental relationships, especially relationships that can lead to, or that involve substance abuse or domestic violence.
3. To prevent at risk women from falling victim to substance abuse, domestic violence, and abuse in general.
Jane’s House of Inspiration seeks to improve the health of all women, but has a special emphasis on helping minority, impoverished, and pregnant women recover and remain free from substance and domestic abuse.
