Meet today’s charity spotlight the Love Unlimited Foundation of Miami, FL their mission is to help enrich the lives of children in Jamaica so they become successful educated leaders who can end the cycle of poverty and preserve the world with love. The foundation is still in it’s infancy stages having formed in but they are already doing some amazing work. Their vision is for every child to have the supplies needed to excel in their education and to feel love during the holidays as they believe every child should have a gift at Christmas.
Based in Miami, FL Love Unlimited host it’s annual LOVE U Camp which takes place during the summer in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. This camp strives to teach youth to embrace who they are and to think and live unlimited. The children enjoy activities including: bible lessons, arts & crafts, music, sports and a talent show. The highlight of the camp is the closing ceremony celebration where students are recognized and donated backpacks and school supplies are gifted to the attendees.
During the fall Love Unlimited hosts toy drives to collect gifts for the children. In December, they travel back to Jamaica to share the love and distribute the gifts to hundreds of children. As the 2014 Summer is quickly approaching, the foundation has launched #SeedAHeart campaign to raise funds for the LOVE U Camp 2014. Their goal is to raise $7,000 to provide 300 backpacks with school supplies and 15 scholarships. Many children cannot afford to purchase all the textbooks required for school and Love Unlimited wants to ensure these bright students are prepared to excel during the school year.
