Patriots Technology Training Center is a non-profit based in Seat Pleasant, Md. which is located in Prince George’s County. The organization delivers STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) to predominantly African American, male/female, middle school and high school students.
“Empowering Students Through Technology” has been their mission for twelve years ; the program is open to students in 5th to 12th grade. By increasing the number of students entering science, mathematics, engineering, and computer technology leading to college education and career paths in those interrelated fields the program has no doubt been a success. Over the years Patriots Technology Training Center has partnered with some of the major technology, government and foundations to support their mission.
The program has stemmed from having a Youth Summit on Technology, Summer Camp, and After School Programs. Patriots Technology Training Center also engages in Lego, Robotics, Tri-Math-A-Lon and Science Bowl competitions. The students have attended the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) conferences from Boston to Texas. Patriots Technology Training Center is now making plans to go to Las Vegas for the National Conference.
