Star power was alive and well in downtown Chicago Saturday night as celebrities and supporters joined hometown Grammy winning hip-hop artist Common. The 2nd Annual Gala and Fundraiser was hosted by The Common Ground Foundation and shined a light on men who’ve made a positive impact in the African American community. The event was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and was a sold-out affair!
This year the foundation honored men of excellence including actor and activist Mr. Harry Belafonte. Other honorees for the gala included: Chicago Bear’s Israel Idonije, Boeing Corporation executive vice president James A. Bell and Million Dollar Scholar founder Derrius Quarles.
