The summer will be here before we know it and while the kids are out of school it’s always great to keep them active and involved. DTLR, a Baltimore- based, independent urban retail chain has been a leading retailer in the urban fashion industry for over 30 years. The company will be hosting its annual free football camps for student athletes this summer in Atlanta, Baltimore and Chicago.
If you are in the Chicago area, DTLR has partnered with NFL All Star/Pro Bowl linebacker Chicago Bears Lance Briggs for its annual free football clinic for Chicago’s inner-city youth. Briggs will give teens hands-on, actual NFL techniques the student athlete can use for their college football recruitment and hopefully the NFL. It’s important that our kids are not just exposed to sports and entertainment during the summer, but also scholarly efforts, to this end, DTLR continues to provide free football camps with NFL players that include information on the college recruitment process and SAT/ACT preparation. Chicago’s event is slated for Saturday, May 4th from 10am-2pm at Hales Franciscan High School , 4930 South Cottage Grove Lane, Chicago, IL 60615. Youth from 7th – 12th grade student athletes are invited to attend; pre-registration is required at www.DTLR.com.
In Atlanta, in its 7th year, 2013 NFC Division Champ Atlanta Falcons star Jonathan Babineaux, Decatur’s own former Baltimore Ravens Daniel Wilcox and former Atlanta Falcons Chauncey Davis will return again for a 2-day camp to teach youth NFL techniques including a 7-7 football invitational;the winner will receive $1,000 for their Athletic Program (coaches and teams are invited by DTLR). The event will be held at Grady High School, 929 Charles Allen Drive, Atlanta, GA 30309 from 10am-2pm.
In Baltimore, Baltimore Ravens 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Champ LaQuan Williams will share his Super Bowl skills to help aspiring student athletes. Location information is not yet available, but the date has been set for June 22nd, 2013. Pre-registration is required for all events and only 300 spaces are available for more information or to register visit www.dtlr.com. Everyone is welcome to attend and cheer!
This is an awesome idea and will be a great experience for the youth. Please let me know how I can volunteer and contribute to the event in Baltimore, I reside in DC.
