Every day, a child in foster care transitions into another home, usually with their belongings in a trash bag. In the world of foster care, trash bags are often synonymous with luggage. It shouldn’t be and the Florida State Foster & Adoptive Parent Association is doing something about it. The Duffels for Kids 5K walk is seeking to break the cycle! Join the Florida State Foster/Adoptive Parent Association for the Duffels for Kids Walk on Saturday, May 17th in Miami as they shed light on the need for duffel bags for children in care.
May is National Foster Care Month and this is a perfect way for you to show support for foster parents and children in care. Through the Duffels for Kids program, every child in foster care will receive a free duffel bag to call his or her own, even as they transition back to their biological parents or to another permanent family.
