Led by HGTV’s “Property Virgins” host, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Egypt Sherrod, on Friday, July 25, 2014 The Egypt Cares Family Foundation presented the non-profit organization’s highly anticipated “3rd Annual Rising Media Stars Boot Camp.”
Fifteen ambitious teens from the metro Atlanta area were selected after each submitted a personal 250 word essay detailing their interest and enthusiasm about pursuing a career in the ever-changing media industry. Each participant was carefully selected to engage in a rigorous day-long program giving them a birds-eye view of the variety of specialized careers available in the media industry. The teens took part in exclusive tours and received personalized tutorials from broadcast television anchors, journalists, TV producers, radio programmers, animation artists, film producers and talent managers. The on-air talent and executives that have won Emmy Awards, NAACP Image Awards and have overseen the production of marquis programming including the annual televised Soul Train Awards.
“As a national TV host & radio personality myself, the Annual Rising Media Stars Boot Camp is a program especially close to my heart.
