On October 24, 2012, “The Simply Born Initiative,” comprised of online
radio personality Monica Jones and journalist Cecilia Smith, will bring back the 2nd edition of their “Laugh 4 a Cure” event; a yearly endeavor where Houston’s brightest comedians and artists come together to
benefit a worthy charity.
With October being “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” this year’s event will benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation, which actively participates in research, education, screenings, and treatment in an effort to eradicate the devastating disease.

Headlining comedians include 2012 “Houston’s Funniest Person” finalists Mickey Housley and Kenneth Boyd; while this year’s SXSW Coast-2-Coast competition and Houston Press “Best Solo Rapper” winner One Hunnidt returns as the feature artist.
Highlighted sponsors include Houston’s largest arts and lifestyle website DayAndADream.com and 90.3 GMTRadio.com, as well as a multitude of premier media outlets from throughout the city. This year’s event will be held at Zanzibar Lounge, (9003 Westheimer) from 6-10pm; and promises to
provide a creative and entertaining means of aiding a revered breast cancer foundation.
