Michael Jordan is most noted for his tremendous success as a professional athlete. His commitment to give back to the community has been consistent throughout his career and for the eleventh year he will host The Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational. Since the establishment of MJIC 2001,event has raised over $6 million dollars for charitable organizations. This is the third year the event will be held in Las Vegas. Philanthropic celebrities will the grace the 5 diamond rated Aria Resort and Casino for the 2012 MJCI party with a purpose. The major event is held at the prestigious Shadow Creek Golf Course.
This four-day competitive event is a annual highlight for the golf community and for golf fanatics.The main golf event of the MJCI is held on the breathtaking Shadow Creek greens is a two-person, 36-hole scramble format tournament, including only competing celebrities. The participating celebrities’ charities of choice also receive a portion of the monies raised.
In attendance to MJCI include A-list celebrities, professional athletes and other public figures. Previous event attendees include Samuel L. Jackson, Drew Brees, Charles Barkley, Spike and Tanya Lee, Felx Alexander, and Jereome Bettis
This inventional includes many special events for attendants of MCJI who have come to enjoy the golf competition. The Celebrity-Amateur tournament pairs 4 amateur golfers with one celebrity participant. This year the celebrity- amueatr event is scheduled to take place Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1.
