The Ludacris Foundation is hosting a Healthy Life Styles Event at Dobbs Elementary School for over 200 youth in addition to various charitable causes supported by DTP Records & Ebony Son Management during LudaDay Weekend.
The Ludacris Foundation, founded by Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges, Manager Chaka Zulu, and close friend/former colleague William “Poon Daddy” Engram, will host a Healthy Life Styles event at Dobbs Elementary School for over 200 youth during LudaDay Weekend. The event will feature First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign (www.letsmove.gov), an exercise program, a healthy food demonstration, and the planting of a fall garden.
The Healthy Life Styles event will serve as the launch of two new programs organized by The Ludacris Foundation including the Choose Well Campaign and the Financial Literacy Program. The Choose Well Campaign is an initiative to encourage and educate the youth to make informed decisions about their healthcare, bodies and overall life decisions, while the Financial Literacy Program, is geared towards helping the youth make smart choices on budgeting, saving, spending, and knowing the difference between their wants versus their needs. “In the last five years, The Ludacris Foundation has evolved into a service organization developing our own programs,” says TLF President, Ms. Roberta Shields. The Atlanta Public Schools and the Department of Recreation are the foundation’s key partners.
