When Superstar Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and King James (Lebron James) pulled off the biggest trio tandem in the National Basketball Association the world was torn, but on Wednesday night the trio used their super powers for good when they came together and raised over a million dollars. In the picture Dwayne Wade showed off his a limited edition King Power Miami HEAT Hublot watch which was auctioned off later that evening.
The star studded event featured a small crowd at the Navarro Discount Pharmacies, LLC. The Heat had played a home game against the Phoenix Suns where they rallied back from a late deficit. The proceeds of the event went to the Miami Heat Charitable Funds.
Established in 1997, the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund supports programs for the betterment of at-risk families in South Florida. Beneficiaries include SafeSpace, a domestic violence shelter for women and children, the Jackson Memorial Foundation’s Guardian Angels and Holtz Children’s Hospital, and the Miami Coalition for a Safe and Drug-Free Community.
Chris Bosh and his wife were in attendance as well as the Heat’s Director of Basketball, Pat Riley. It was no small task to attend with an entrance fee of $20,000 but as we say “it went to a good cause”.
Through these initiatives, the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund continues to inspire the youth of South Florida to envision their dreams and achieve their goals.
Athletes get their fair share of criticism for high paying salaries for what as seen as just playing a game but its events like these and other countless events that ought to be spot lighted.
The Heat had a double double, with a win on and off the court.
