The BURGER KING McLAMORE Foundation has opened enrollment for the BURGER KINGS Scholars program. Applications must be submitted by December 15, 2016. Open for high school seniors and BURGER KING® team members, the scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $50,000 and are made possible through the ongoing support of BURGER KING® guests, franchisees, suppliers and the McLamore Family Foundation.

Created in memory of BURGER KING® Co-founder James “Jim” W. McLamore, the BURGER KINGSM Scholars program has awarded over $28.3 million in scholarships to more than 26,800 high school students, BURGER KING® employees and their families across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico since 2000. In 2016 alone, the Foundation awarded $3 million to more than 2,800 students in North America.
In 2011, the McLamore Family Foundation created the James W. McLamore WHOPPER® Scholarship Award, granting a $50,000 scholarship to three students each year. The four-year scholarship is intended to help the top students that apply achieve their educational and professional dreams, along with serving as a tribute to Jim himself.
The requirements to become a BURGER KINGSM Scholar are simple. You must apply within the application period, and fit the prerequisites below:
Have a strong academic record with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5
Be active in the community through volunteering, sports, clubs and/or religious organizations
Be a graduating high school senior with plans to attend a two- or four-year program at an accredited university, college or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico; or be a BURGER KING® employee.
Non-high school senior BURGER KING® employees can further their education by using the scholarship for non-degree courses such as accounting, computer or language courses.
