Founded in 2010, the Atlanta Music Project (AMP) provides intense music education for underserved youth right in their neighborhood. AMP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations, including those going towards this fundraiser, are tax-deductible.
AMP currently runs three after-school youth orchestra sites in inner-city Atlanta, providing 110 students with over 300 hours of stellar music instruction and performance opportunities annually. Teaching Artists, instruments, classes and performance opportunities are all provided free-of-charge.

The organization has launched a fundraising campaign for AMPlify last Tuesday and have already raised 15% of their goal of $20,000. AMPlify will give 50 elementary school students in Atlanta’s Mechanicsville neighborhood the opportunity to:
- Be a part of an intense after-school choral program
- Learn to read and write music, develop vocal technique
- Perform choral concerts all over Metro Atlanta
- Become role models for their peers, families and communities
AMPlify will be led by Aisha Bowden. Aisha is an award-winning choir director and music educator who spent over ten years teaching in inner-city D.C. and Atlanta. A 2012 graduate of the Sistema Fellows Program, which included a 5-week residency in Venezuela to study El Sistema, Aisha also spent two years as the Atlanta Music Project’s Choral Teaching Artist.
Aisha holds a Bachelor of Music Education, with a minor in Piano Performance, from Howard University (HU!).
The goal is to raise $20,000 to officially launch the program.
