Defense tackler for the Detroit Lions, Nick Fairley, recently held his first annual free Football and Cheerleading Camp. Fairley returned to his hometown of Mobile, Alabama and had the even at his old high school, Williamson HS. This camp was open to young people between the ages of ten and eighteen. Fellow Lions Players, University of South Alabama Cheerleaders and volunteers alike came out to contribute to this event.
More than three hundred fifty teens came out to engage in the activities that Nick Fairley’s Free Football and Cheerleading Camp had to offer. The participants were active from 9am to 2pm on Saturday June 22nd. From the young ladies in the gymnasium who practiced cheerleading to the young men on the football field running plays, everyone experienced some physical activity on that day. The young men who participated were gaining football skills from Nick Fairley himself.
These young people were given the opportunity to interact with someone who came from the same hometown and fulfilled their dreams. I can only imagine how much inspiration was gained after Nick Fairley’s Football and Cheerleading Camp. If you are interested in participating in this event you can partake in its second annual camp next summer, stay tuned to BCG for more details!
