Anyone who knows me personally knows that I am a STAN for Jay-Z I mean, I really love this man. While mainstream media will make you think that Jay-Z and Beyonce don’t give back, I completely disagree. Last year I posted about the open scholarship with the Shawn Carter foundation and low and behold to my surprise one of our readers, applied and was rewarded the scholarship. When she tweeted that to me, it made me smile from ear to ear and I am hoping we can repeat that same smile this year, when someone reading this post, like you, tells me you received a grant to complete your education. In Shawn Carter’s own words “We created the scholarship foundation to be an opening of a door; the first step in a new direction. No one should be cheated out a chance at success just because they can’t continue their education. I want to do my part so anyone that really wants it has a chance to achieve their dream.”
Jay-Z is hip hop’s most successful artist in my opinion, he has broken records in music, sports and fashion around the world and is using that opportunity to give back! Check out the eligibility requirements below and please share this story with a deserving youth who may qualify, good luck!
