Here at BCG we celebrate the good, the giving and the causes that are effecting our communities everyday. So it’s always an amazing feeling when we meet a celebrity who too shares our passion for educating the people about causes and championing the cause. Last week BCG was pleased to host a Twitter-view with songstress and songwriter Kalenna Harper. May is Lupus Awareness Month and Kalenna is the ambassador for The Lupus Foundation. The twitter chat garnered an amazing response as Kalenna shared her personal story of losing her sister to the disorder Lupus.
Lupus is is a long-term autoimmune disorder that may affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. No one knows what causes lupus. Scientists think that people are born with the genes to develop lupus and that something brings on or “triggers” the disease and symptoms. However, a combination of genetics (heredity), environment, and hormones is involved.
We salute Kalenna for giving back to her cause of Lupus and here’s how you can help! As you know Kaleena is an ambassador for The Lupus Foundation, the site lists several ways everyday people like us can get involved with the cause.
