To celebrate the launch of his new charity, “If I Could Change The World,” T-Pain will return to his hometown of Tallahassee, FL. for a huge benefit concert. “Come To The Crib 2,” in partnership with Florida State University’s Headliner Artist Series, will take place on March 31 and include performances by heavy-hitters like Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Ace Hood, Young Cash, and more.
“If I Could Change The World” will focus on a different initiative each year, with fans choosing which charity will benefit from the “World” foundation. The singer/songwriter encourages fans to visit the foundation’s website and vote for the charity of their choosing. “Hopefully my foundation inspires today’s youth to get involved with our communities, which is why I wanted to give my fans the control to choose this year’s charity. So go to www.changeworlds.org to help us select this year’s initiative.”
“Crib 2” follows T-Pain’s successful “Come To The Crib” benefit concert in 2007, and this time around, he’s expressed delight on organizing a bigger and better event. “I can’t wait to hit the stage for ‘Come to the Crib 2′” he revealed. “Our fans and their support made it possible for us to build a new entertainment room for the kids at the Walker Ford Center and I hope this year will be even bigger.”
The star’s 1st and #1 initiative is to Give Backto Tallahassee! On the foundation’s website, T-Pain says he will continue to give back to where he is from, an area in need, is the basis for his foundation If I Could Change The World and it’s first initiative “Give back to Tallahassee”. Tallahassee is the state capitol of Florida and the prominent college town in all of Florida. Florida Sate University and Florida A&M are just two of the nine esteemed colleges and universities in the area.
Despite being a capitol of one of the biggest states and an educational hub, Tallahassee has been hit hard by the recent economic downturn. Between 2006 and 2010, 28.5% of persons in Tallahassee are living below the poverty line whereas in Florida the average is only 13.5% according to http://quickfacts.census.
About If I Could Change The World
Anyone (no matter their age, education or how much money they have) has the power to help others. When we go out of our way to help others, we sometimes get awarded with opportunities to help change and (even) save lives. When that happens, we sometimes refer to those actions as miracles. When these “miracles” happen, they can literally change the course of the world. However, in today’s climate we often see people having trouble making their miracles happen. Maybe they don’t think they have the “money” to help others, or the “power”, or the “connections” to make their miracles happen. If I Can Change the World Foundation is your opportunity to bring your miracle to life. There are people in every neighborhood that don’t have enough to eat. There are young children dying in our streets every day. We see our Veterans not getting the care that they deserve. There are bone marrow recipients waiting for someone to step up and save their life, we constantly see animals being treated unfairly. The list goes on and on, but with every problem comes opportunities for our finest people to step up and find solutions.
If I Could Change The World Foundation gives you the opportunity to create your own idea to help those in need. The foundation was established to help everyone, and we are here to celebrate the fact that each of us (no matter where you’re from, your age, or social status) can Change the World.
“Miracles” happen every day. If you know someone that is quietly changing the world, please visit our Blog and share their story.
