Dr. J was honored with the Hennessy Privilege Award at a private event in Los Angeles in honor of NBA All-Star Weekend. One of the evenings guest speakers was philanthropist, author and hip-hop pioneer Russell Simmons who presented the award.
Dr. J earned the award for his contributions and involvement in community affairs, entertainment and basketball.
The event served a meeting ground where experiences and information were traded freely between older players and younger athletes and entertainers.
