The Feed the Homeless Tour Presents: The Face of Homeless Stage-play!

Face Flyer Front

I am often asked which causes are most important to me and to be honest this is such a hard question for me to answer because there are so many things which pull on my heart strings. I will say one that is at the top of my list for sure is Homelessness. One of our major partners for the BCG Giving Boutique was The Feed the Homeless Tour who this weekend is presenting their very first stage production. The Face of Homeless is a stage production that promotes the work of non-profit organization Feed the Homeless Tour and reminds people that homelessness can not have a “look” or a “face” to it… it could be anyone you know… it could be YOU! I had a chance to speak with the visionary behind this production Vitelle Webb.

BCG: What made you decide to do this play, why did you think it was needed?
Vitelle Webb: It literally hit me out of no where. I tried to ignore the idea but when I finally sat down to get it out on paper it’s like it wrote itself. I knew it was nothing but God and it had to be done. I’m totally aware of the ignorance we have in this country when it comes to homelessness and the fact that the TRUTH needs to be told.

BCG: Why is homelessness a cause so close to you?
Vitelle Webb: At first it was just because I care for people and don’t like seeing others in need. Eventually, after being homeless myself, it became much more personal and I feel it is my responsibility to fix the problem. It’s everyone’s responsibility but I lead by example and hope and pray it will catch on.

BCG: Tell us how people can get involved and support your work?
Vitelle Webb:There are many ways that anyone can get involved. We are always in need of volunteers and they can call us at (770) 676-9955 to find out what opportunities are available. Have you ever discussed homelessness and immediately a face comes to mind?
Does it look a little like someone you would call a bum? A hobo? Through this stage play, The Feed the Homeless tour will dispel the myths and present to you true stories of families, elderly, children and veterans and many others you probably would NOT consider to be your typical homeless person. It’s time to lay judgement and stereotypes aside and recognize that Homelessness is all around us and has no discrimination.

If  you will be in the Atlanat area this Saturday, August 3rd be sure to click here to get your tickets now and support this amazing production.
