The First-Ever 2012 “Big Daddy Awards” Announces Nominees Brad Pitt, Jay-Z, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, David Beckham, Bono, Donald Trump, Cee Lo Green, Peyton Manning, President Obama and More for Fans to Vote for Their Top Celebrity Dads for Father’s Day.

On The Line, a national prostate cancer awareness campaign, today announced the nominations for the first annual 2012 “Big Daddy Awards” — from Brad Pitt to President Obama — in which fans can vote for their top celebrity dad picks in 33 categories that encompass film, television, music, comedy and sports.  The “Big Daddy Awards” is a virtual award show held exclusively online, of which the winners will be announced on Monday, June 18, the day after Father’s Day.  Fans can vote for their favorite celebrity dads at www.bigdaddyawards.com now through June 17.

Nominations include top celebrities and noted figures in fun and unique categories — Brad Pitt is nominated for “Heartthrob Big Daddy”, Jay-Z for “Hip Hop Big Daddy “, David Beckham for “Best Dressed Big Daddy “, Bono for “Do Gooder Big Daddy” and President Obama for “Presidential Candidate Big Daddy”.  Other nominees include Mario Batali for “Hottest Thing in the Kitchen Big Daddy”, Clint Eastwood for “Iconic Big Daddy”, Cee Lo Green for “Bald and the Beautiful Big Daddy”, LeBron James for “Pro Hoops Big Daddy”, Donald Trump for “Business Mogul Big Daddy”, and even All-Time TV greats from Andy Griffith, Hugh Beaumont, Bill Cosby, Michael Landon, Ray Romano and George Lopez for “TV Dad Hall of Fame Big Daddy”.  “The Biggest Daddy of the Year Award” will go to the dad with the most votes overall.

Says Arnold Palmer, nominee for “On The Line – Prostate Cancer Survivor Big Daddy”, “It’s great to be a macho man and a tough guy, but it’s even greater to get some good advice and do something about it (prostate cancer).”

For the 2012 “Big Daddy Awards”, cancer survivor and Creator/Co-Executive Producer of the FOX Teen Choice Awards, Michael Burg, saw a unique opportunity to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer programs and research for a cure.

“Bringing a touch of entertainment and humor together during a time that celebrates dads is really rewarding,” said Burg. “Our ultimate goal is to rally the public to help find a cure for a disease that strikes one out of every six men.”

In addition to voting for their favorite “Big Daddy,” fans can show their support by making a donation in honor of their father or a loved one by logging onto www.onthelinefoundation.org.  Voters are invited to share a Father’s Day family photo in the Big Daddy Gallery and to spread the word via their social networks to encourage friends and family to vote and donate.

The 2012 “Big Daddy Awards” is the first in a series of philanthropic initiatives that On The Line will be rolling out this year to support the cause.
