This Saturday, August 24th Spelman women and Atlanta residents alike, will be treated to a one of a kind fashion experience to bring urgent resources to TeenAngels Society, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit mentoring organization that assists adolescent girls with the difficult transition from girlhood to womanhood.
Envision having unlimited access to delectable chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet cup cakes; topped with whipped icing, de le che caramel, and sweet butter cream; then dipped with summer fresh fruit, homemade cookie crumbles and mouth watering candy and sprinkles. This vision will soon become a reality for attendees of the upcoming TeenAngels Society’s “Cupcake Couture” and it is all for the purpose of providing girls 7-17 with opportunities to reach their maximum potential.
Teen Angels Society Inc.will present their unique, “New Millennium Charm School” model which equips girls with the tools needed to become self-aware, culturally diverse, community and civically engaged, and career ready. TeenAngels Society was created as a direct response to the growing number of girls who become engaged in risky behaviors. Spelman College will host the TeenAngels program beginning Fall 2013.
“Cupcake Couture” will engage 200+ participants of all ages in a sweet tooth experience filled with cupcake tasting, cupcake art, and a live pink carpet runway show. However, the main goal is to bring urgent resources and support to the TeenAngels Society’s programming; programming that will identify girls who are having difficulty transitioning from girlhood to womanhood and offer them a safe and supportive environment to
avoid pitfalls that can derail their lives.
