It was all about serving yesterday as leaders of Atlanta’s entertainment industry and 50+ volunteers came together to support Shanti Das’ 2nd Annual “No Reservations Needed” Thanksgiving Dinner at the Atlanta Mission and BCG was there to see it all unfold. I have been a long time fan of entertainment executive Shanti Das and to see her truly give back from the heart only makes me love her more! The evening kicked-off with a day of grooming for 400 men. Eight local barbers from some of Atlanta’s top barbershops came out to provide complimentary shampoos and haircuts from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Shortly after, the special guests of the evening were treated to a crowd-pleasing Thanksgiving dinner that including turkey, ham, stuffing, savory side dishes, sweet desserts, a live broadcast by Atlanta’s V-103 and everything else needed to host a festive dinner party. Notables in attendance included: Hip Hop Artist Young Jeezy, Ronnie Devoe of New Edition, Shamari Fears-Devoe of the girl group Blaque, Atlanta City Council President Ceasar C. Mitchell, V-103’s Big Tigger, Jean Ross and Mo Ivory, Ryan Glover of Bounce TV, Sheri Riley of GLUE, Inc., Monique Rivarde, Bobby Tillman’s mother, and more. Shanti Das, creator of the annual “No Reservations Needed” dinner stated, “God bless and thank you from the bottom of my heart to ALL that sponsored, donated, volunteered and served for the 2nd annual “No Reservations Needed” feeding at the Atlanta Mission. I am humbled by the support and grateful to God for my friends/colleagues and gracious strangers who helped. Will leave with you a quote that I love from our awesome President of the United States of America: “The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.” ~ Barack Obama
Shanti sends a special thanks to the following sponsors for making this event happen: Walmart, V-103, 1380 WAOK News & Talk, AG Entertainment, The Gidewon Group, Michael McFadden, Xavier Fleetwood, and Terry Bello. We love you Shanti!
