Young Teacher Finds Passion in Helping North Carolina Students.

Her name is Shayla Adams, she’s just 24 years old and currentley a teacher in Durham, NC. Her passion in life is to try and solve the issues of educational disparity by giving students exposure. Through her non-profit Remixeducation Inc., she is rallying young professionals to create scholarships for first-generation college students and mentor at-risk teens. She recently published a pamphlet for first-generation college bound seniors entitled “Making College Happen”.

“As you well know, the process can be overwhelming for any student, and this workbook will give them tools they need to be successful i.e. sample resume, essay writing worksheets, how to generate an activities list, how to ask for letters of recommendation etc,” said Adams.
